Representative Cases

Salama V. Salama

Divorce / Separation:
Was successful in having the Appellate Court uphold the Property Settlement Agreement.

Paddison V. Deis

Alimony:
The Appellate Division reversed and remanded with instructions for the trial court to award permanent alimony.

Roik v. Roik

Divorce/Estate:
Husband passed away after the parties signed the MSA but prior to the uncontested hearing. Husband’s estate sought enforcement of the MSA. Appellate Division allowed the Estate to substitute as party of interest in the divorce, enforced the MSA, and applied retroactively the new statute that dealt with the situation when a party dies after a complaint for divorce has been filed.

Recusal and Conflict of Interest:
Appellate Division held that ex parte meeting with former husband’s counsel and the judge regarding employment for the judge’s law clerk created appearance of impropriety that required the judge’s order to be vacated and remanded.
